@ 184 Zacahariah supplicates for a son 3:38-41
3:38 Thereupon Zachariah supplicated to his Lord, saying, 'Lord, give me from You a good offspring. You hear all prayers.'
# هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ 38
3:39 And the angels called out to him when he was standing in the sanctuary worshipping, saying, 'Allah gives you glad tidings of John, who shall confirm a Word from Allah. He shall be a master and chaste, a Prophet and from the righteous.'
# فَنَادَتْهُ المَلائِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي فِي المِحْرَابِ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيَى مُصَدِّقاً بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَسَيِّداً وَحَصُوراً وَنَبِياًّ مِّنَ الصَّالِحِينَ 39
3:40 He said, 'Lord, how shall I have a son when I am overtaken by old age and my wife is barren?' He said, 'Even so, Allah does what He will.'
# قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّى يَكُونُ لِي غُلامٌ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِيَ الكِبَرُ وَامْرَأَتِي عَاقِرٌ قَالَ كَذَلِكَ اللَّهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَاءُ 40
3:41 He said, 'Lord, appoint for me a sign.' He said, 'Your sign is that you shall not speak to people except by signs for three days.' And remember your Lord abundantly, exalt Him in the evening and at the dawn.'
# قَالَ رَبِّ اجْعَل لِّي آيَةً قَالَ آيَتُكَ أَلاَّ تُكَلِّمَ النَّاسَ ثَلاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلاَّ رَمْزاً وَاذْكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيراً وَسَبِّحْ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالإِبْكَارِ 41
